Meet Our Team
Dr. Ciji Sabo
Dr. Ciji Sabo joined our team in 2020. She is a 2020 graduate of Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine. In 2022, she earned her Master of Public Health from the University of Alabama Birmingham. Her professional interests include internal medicine, pain management, and geriatrics, as well as public health issues such as zoonotic diseases and food safety and security. She is currently a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Alabama Veterinary Medical Association and the East Alabama Veterinary Medical Association.
Dr. Sabo shares her life with her senior greyhound, Sparkle; her two cats, Wasabi and Gouda; and her three Nigerian dwarf goats, Squid, Hops, and Parm. During her leisure time, she enjoys gardening, fishing, creative cooking, and taking on new DIY projects.
Dr. Zac Hassler
Dr. Zac Hassler joined the Crawford Road Animal Hospital team in June of 2020. He graduated from the Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2019 following completion of his undergraduate Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Sciences, also from Auburn University. He is originally from Clay, Alabama and recalls wanting to be a veterinarian from the age of 8 years old, so he’s living his lifelong dream. Between his time studying as an undergraduate student, Dr. Hassler spent four years playing trumpet in the Auburn University Marching Band.
Dr. Hassler is married to another practicing veterinarian, Dr. Kileigh Speed, who he met during his undergraduate years at Auburn. He currently has four dogs, two of which are Catahoula Leopard Dogs. When away from the clinic, Dr. Hassler enjoys listening to rock music, watching movies, playing chess, listening to podcasts, and reading both fiction and non-fiction books.
Dr. Hassler’s professional interests include dentistry, oral surgery, soft tissue surgery, and wound repair. He is currently a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Alabama Veterinary Medical Association, and the East Alabama Veterinary Medical Association
Leah
Veterinary Assistant
Leah is one of our Veterinary Assistants. Leah has been with the Crawford Road Animal Hospital team since June of 2019. She is originally from Ohio and has been working with animals for 15 years. She has her Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Columbus State University. Outside of the clinic Leah enjoys sushi, horror films, rock and roll and true crime shows. Michael Myers is her best friend and her kittens are her world.
Keli
Veterinary Assistant
Keli is one of our Veterinary Assistants. Keli joined the Crawford Road Animal Hospital team September of 2021. She is working towards her RVT and loves being a part of the team and working with your pets every day. While she is originally from NNY she loves everything the south has to offer. Outside of work Keli stays busy with her 2 children, 3 dogs and 2 cats. Other than spending time at the baseball/softball field with her children Keli enjoys going to the Braves games, audiobooks and loves a good cup of coffee.
Katelin
Veterinary Assistant
Katelin will greet you on the phone or be one of the smiling faces in clinic as your Veterinary Assistant because she does both roles. Katelin has been with the Crawford Road Animal Hospital team since April of 2022. She has worked with animals for 10 years including small and large. Her household includes 5 fur babies, 3 dogs and 2 cats. Outside of work Katelin enjoys spending time with her children and doing photography.
Christy
Veterinary Assistant
Christy will welcome you to our hospital with a warm smile or a friendly phone greeting. With an impressive 18-year track record in the Veterinary field, Christy's expertise shines through. When she's not caring for animals, you'll find her with her high school sweetheart, now her husband, and their two children. They have two dogs and three cats. In her spare, Christy enjoys spending quality family time and embarking on memorable camping adventures.
Shanna
Hospital Manager
Shanna is the Hospital Manager here at Crawford Road Animal Hospital. Shanna has been with the clinic since April of 2006. Shanna enjoys the relationships she has built with clients and their pets over the years. Her household includes her 3 dogs and 2 cats. She and her husband, Joseph, have three children; Hannah, Hunter, and Holden. All of which are very active in sports year-round so she spends most of her time outdoors. In her spare time, she enjoys being with friends and family camping, going to the beach, watching football and bonfires.
Skye
Receptionist
Skye works in the front office and greets you on the phone. Skye joined the Crawford Road Animal Hospital team August of 2021. She always brings us the best food dishes. Outside of work Skye’s interest are cooking, crochet, gardening and canning. She also loves to relax with her pups and watch a movie.
Linda
Receptionist
Linda works in the front office and greets you on the phone. Linda has been with the Crawford Road Animal Hospital team since February 2021. She is always making us laugh and likes to break out in random dance moves throughout the day. When not in clinic, Linda can be found enjoying the outdoors, spending time with her family and being the best Lolli to her grandbabies. She loves crosswords, coffee, tattoos, horror movies and everything spooky.
Katlyn
Katlyn can be found taking care of the fur babies at our boarding facility. Katlyn joined our team here at Crawford Road Animal Hospital March of 2022. She is engaged and has two fur babies that she loves with all her heart. Outside of work she enjoys riding motorcycles with her fiancé. Her favorite meal is chicken and Dr. Pepper.
